
650 young people from Moldova carried out 29 creative projects in 2021
Youth-friendly spaces, interest clubs, youth services, personal development courses, youth opportunities – these are the initiatives that 650 young people have carried out for their peers in 25 communities in Moldova during 2021.

Tdh FabLab in Győr, Hungary, engaged youth at a high school event organised by the Győr Municipality
The FabLab Győr, situated in the city centre, was invited to be one of the many stations that welcomed high school students during a 24-hour competition. The event “Aludj Máskor!” (Sleep another time!) was organised by the Győr Municipality on 27-28 November 2021 and brought together more than 250 young people from nine high schools who had the opportunity to participate in common activities, and apply their creativity, skills and perseverance.

BRIDGE: More than 1400 care professionals and 1600 children and youth learned to tackle gender-based violence in the context of migration
Studies point to alarming accounts of gender-based violence (GBV) affecting refugee and migrant children and young people in the European Union. Through the EU-funded BRIDGE project, Terre des hommes (Tdh) and its partners strengthened the response to this issue in EU countries and empowered children and youth to better protect themselves.

Digital Fabrication for Vocational Education in Eastern Ukraine
Conflict-affected regions in Eastern Ukraine are facing high unemployment rates, especially among young people. There are very few employment opportunities and, at the same time, young people are less prepared for today’s work and business environment. Terre des hommes aims to increase the participation of youth in the Ukrainian economy by strengthening vocational education and training, developing youths’ digital and entrepreneurial skills, and improving their employability.

YOUNG CITIZENS – Community engagement of young people in East Ukraine
Through its YOUNG CITIZENS project, Terre des hommes (Tdh) supports young people to be active in their communities by enhancing their interaction with stakeholders and decision-makers at local and regional level and by empowering them to lead their communication campaigns and collaborative initiatives.

Refugees, asylum seekers and locals in Greece come together through football
Terre des hommes (Tdh) improves young refugees’ psychosocial well-being by using football as a tool for protection, social inclusion and cohesion. Starting April 2019, Tdh organise weekly football training sessions in and around Thessaloniki, being funded by the European Union. Both locals and refugees over the age of 15 years are invited to play, coach or referee football regularly.

A new project to reduce violence against children in 30 communities in Moldova
Physical violence and emotional abuse still represent a daily reality for many children in Moldova, both at home and at school. Terre des hommes Moldova, with the financial support of Oak Foundation, launched a three-year project aiming to prevent violence against children by engaging the entire community. About 70 teachers and school students from the 30 beneficiary communities participated in the launching event on April 12.
