Vacancy: Project Manager in Ukraine

Terre des hommes Lausanne is looking for a Project Manager in Ukraine.

Duration: 3 months, October-December 2017

Type of contract: international

Location: Severodonetsk, Ukraine (with field visits, including to the conflict area)

Objective of the position:

The project manager leads and manages Tdh intervention in Luhansk region, here included activities, people and budgets.

Main responsibilities:

  1. The Project Manager is in charge of the direct project implementation and Tdh intervention in the region of Luhansk. He/she works in complete line with the project strategy defined for the intervention.
  2. He/she will be managing a team of 12 national staff and will bear the responsibility for the team implementation of policies on security, child safeguarding and fraud prevention.
  3. He/she works in close coordination with the governmental and non-governmental agencies, with the coordination system, to develop, monitor and orientate the project. He/she works with all relevant authorities at district and community level (civil, religious, police, militaries and all other services) for a better implementation, acceptance and ownership in improving the living conditions of affected populations in Luhansk.
  4. He/she will ensure the communication with the donor, will participate in the meetings with donors and project partners.
  5. Fosters the correct communication and visibility of the projects and the foundation.
  6. He/she will ensure the appropriate reporting, both narrative and financial.
  7. He/she will draft the project intervention for the next stage.
  8. He/she will conduct his or her duties in respect of the Charter of Terre des hommes and the Tdh Child Protection Policy. Terre des hommes expects that its contractors’ professional conduct reflects proper behaviour in accordance with local culture and traditions. The incumbent assures the moral protection of the name of Terre des hommes and defends in all circumstances the interests of the movement.

Profile:

  • Education: University degree in a relevant field of management
  • Language: Excellent oral and writing skills in English, Ukrainian and Russian will be an asset. 
  • Experiences and skills:
    • 5 to 10 years previous experience of seniority in an NGO at a management position
    • Successful track record of leading strategies and securing high levels of funding from institutional donors
    • Extensive project management experience (management; planning; staff development and training skills)
    • Management experience and strong team leadership qualities
    • Ability to work well and punctually under pressure
    • A commitment to excellence; attention to detail and high interested for the innovation
  • Child safeguarding policy: To commit to respect Tdh Risk Management Policies including: Child safeguarding Policy, Safety and Security Policy and Anti-Fraud/Corruption Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy
