Children visited County court in Zagreb

2016-03-10

30 children from two high schools in Zagreb visited County court as a part of the project „Right(s) court for children“ implemented in Croatia by Brave Phone.

Lana Peto Kujundžić, Judge for youth and Matea Babić, expert for children, demonstrated the court proceeding to the children as well how the special rooms with video link  for questioning children look like. Children were explained the difference  between roles in court: child as a witness, victim or perpetrator. The most exciting part for children was to see the biggest courtroom at County court and to sit in a chair of Attorney general, Defender and Judge.  Children had a lot of question for the Judge and Expert like “What was the hardest case for you”; “How do you know if someone is lying” or “Do Croatia has death penalty”.
