On December 18th - the International Migrants Day, Terre des hommes Albania launches its latest study "Children and Migration in Albania: Latest trends and protection measures available".

The study provides a situational analysis of the migration trends in Albania and the impact on those taking risky routes to find better opportunities, in particular on children. It also provides recommendations on the key areas in which the migration policies in Albania could focus on.

In the last two years, Terre des hommes Albania has been supporting the reintegration of families returning from migration and the prevention from unsafe migration, as part of Tdh’s global migration strategy, building on the organization’s experience on migration globally and regionally, and supporting the child protection system through innovative social services in Albania.

This initiative has been supported by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) through the project "Improving the living conditions and reintegrating migrant children in Albania".

The study can serve as a basis for further improvements to the legal, policy and institutional framework concerning migration management, which should include the provision of services for those vulnerable groups who take difficult journeys in the hope of finding a better life.
